Program Description

All parents go through a period of change as they adjust to the changes that a baby can bring, even before the birth. But for the one in five women and one in ten men who will experience anxiety or depression during this time, things can get really tough. If you or your partner are struggling with your emotional wellbeing or mental health when expecting a baby or in the first year of baby’s life, it’s important to get help early. Early treatment increases the chance of a fast recovery.  Our seminars will help you to recognise the signs of perinatal anxiety or depression in women, men and families, and give you great resources and information about where to go for support.

Children under 12 months are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided.

To access Support & Health Services for free, you must be:
  • A financial ETU member (includes suspended up to six (6) months)
  • An ETU member for more than three (3) months
  • A family member (of an eligible ETU member) who fits the definition
  • A member of a Victorian union
