“Red Card to White Card”

Apply to transfer your Victorian Basic Construction Industry Card to WorkSafe Construction Induction card.

This application process is for ETU members currently working in construction industry to transfer their Red Card to White Card

*Please note evidence of the following needs to be submitted with your application:

  • You have completed Victorian Basic Construction Industry Course through EEIT (ETU/NECA) (ie. certificate)
  • You have completed Victorian Basic Construction Industry Course in or prior to 2008 (ie. date on certificate)
  • Certified copy of photo ID, eg: Drivers Licence or Passport (copy must be signed by a Justice of Peace)
  • That you are currently working in construction industry (ie. pay slip, employer letter..etc)

Course Description

Return the downloadable form to [email protected] with the following documentation:

  • Certified copy of photo ID, eg: Drivers Licence or Passport (copy must be signed by a Justice of the Peace, eg: Police Officer, Pharmacist) and
  • Copy of your Red Card (WorkSafe requires 2008 or prior as the issue date to be transferred) and evidence of currently working in construction industry

If you are unable to provide a copy of your Red Card and evidence of currently working in construction industry, a Statutory Declaration must be completed stating that:

“I have successfully completed the Red Card program and have lost/misplaced your Red Card”

OR

“I currently work in the construction industry”

Note- this Statutory Declaration will be verified against a course database to confirm course completion date

NOTE: The Photo ID and Statutory Declaration must be signed by an authorised person that is able to witness a Statutory Declaration, eg, Pharmacist, Police or Justice of Peace.

Once the downloadable form and certified documents are received, processing may take up to 14 – 21 days. WorkSafe will post the card to the address provided.

The transfer of the Red Card to White Card will not be processed until the downloadable form is returned with payment and the certified documentation.

This is not a free service.

The Centre for U requires that students meet the following criteria:

Students must have reasonable fitness to work on a construction site

Students obtaining their White Card from WorkSafe, can expect to be permitted to work on building sites and in other construction settings.

Construction induction training requirements

WorkSafe Victoria set the requirement for delivering Construction Induction Training that student records must checked, and details of participant’s photo identification recorded

Photo identification

The Centre for U delivering will need to verify and record the identity of course participants against accepted proof of identity documents.

Driver’s licence and passports are forms of suitable photo identification
