Course Description
During this course, you will learn to:
- Plan the job, check the site and identify hazards before you elevate
- Conduct pre-operational and safety checks on the machine
- Set up, stabilise and shut down EWPs on level and uneven ground
- Operate scissor lifts and self-propelled boom lifts under 11 metres
- Use fall protection, harnesses and exclusion zones correctly
- Respond to emergencies, including controlled lowering and rescue.
Note: This course does not cover truck-mounted EWPs, powered telescoping devices, hinged devices or articulated devices, or any combination of these used to support an elevated work platform which has a boom length of 11 metres or more.

Training and Assessment Arrangements
- Training is delivered through face-to-face sessions that combine theory and practical hands-on training.
- Before the course, students will receive pre-reading materials to prepare for the course.
- Practical training and assessment will be delivered in our simulated workspace environment at Kangan Institute. The assessment process includes both theory assessments and practical assessments in a simulated workplace environment, all conducted on-site during the two days.
- Students must commit to attending both days of the course.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency:
- CPCCCM3001 Operate elevated work platforms up to 11 metres.
Note: This is not the national High Risk Work License (HRWL) for an Elevated Work Platform (Class WP) that is required to work with elevated work platforms over 11 metres.
Prerequisites and Entry Requirements
There are no formal prerequisite requirements for this unit of competency, however, to enrol in this unit with The Centre for U, students must meet the following criteria. You must:
- Be at least 18 years of age at the time of enrolment.
- Have a suitable level of language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills to complete the course requirements.
- Be able to communicate safely and clearly with other team members.
- Have reasonable physical fitness and capability to operate an EWP at heights up to 11 metres, including the ability to:
- Stand for long periods
- Climb in and out of the work platform
- Fit and adjust harnesses
- Manipulate manual controls
- Tolerate heights

Unique Student Identifiers
On 1st of January 2015, the Australian Government introduced compulsory USI numbers for nationally recognised training. The USI is a reference number that gives you access to a USI record. A USI will allow you to see your results from all training providers for all nationally recognised training, including all completed units and qualifications. Please ensure that you have obtained your USI and provide it to us during your enrolment. The process takes a couple of minutes, is free, and available online at http://www.usi.gov.au.
Course Fees
This is a full-fee course and is not eligible for our members as a fee-free course. All participants will be required to pay a fee to participate in this training.

Fees must be paid at the time of enrolment.
GST is not applicable for nationally recognised training.
