Course Description

The Victorian Track Safety Awareness Level 1 course provides the skills and knowledge required by all staff and contractors working in the rail corridor under supervision. This course is suitable for individuals who are new to rail. This course is recognised by Metro Trains Melbourne, V/Line, and ARTC in Victoria and includes the Metro Trains Melbourne – Safety and Environmental Induction. In completing this course you will undertake the accredited unit TLIF2080 Safely Access the Rail Corridor.

Assessment

Assessment will be a blend of theory (multiple choice and written questions) and a practical assessment conducted one-on-one.


Outcomes

After successfully completing this course, you will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment with TLIF2080 and a Certificate that lists the VIC Level 1 Train Track Safety Awareness and Metro Trains Melbourne Safety and Environmental Induction.

Employed ETU Member: $247.50

Non Member: $275


Eligibility for Free Training

  • Members must be financial (includes suspended up to six (6) months)
  • Must be an ETU member for more than three (3) months.

Please bring 100 points of identification (including at least one photo ID) on the day.

If you have completed the TTSA (also known as safely access the rail corridor) course previously with any Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and you work in the Melbourne Metro Network, please contact the Metro Academy to complete your Recertification (Renewal).

To work on the V/Line network, the Contractor Induction (available online) must also be completed.
